CAlling all gilmore girls fans!
Visit Livermore and experience Bay Area's own
Stars Hollow. Yes, it's real.
Welcome to
our very own stars hollow!
If you've ever finished a Gilmore Girls rewatch and immediately wished you could wander into a town square, grab a coffee, and browse a cozy little bookshop, well good news. Livermore has its own version of Stars Hollow, and you don't need a TV budget to spend a day in it. As a huge fan myself, having experienced the actual set in Holidays Made Here at Universal Studios, I can honestly say outside of the east coast, this is the closest thing in Northern California you can get to Stars Hollow and I am blessed to be a photographer here in this charming little California city.
Grab the Rory to your Lorelai, the Lane to your Rory or the Luke to your Lorelai, your coziest flannel, order something with too much caffeine, and follow this Stars Hollow-inspired walking tour through Livermore. Watch my video to check out all the spots in town places before you visit!
The Itinerary
1. Luke's Diner → Wingen Bakery:
Every good day starts with coffee (extra strong, extra frequent, per Lorelai's standards). Wingen Bakery is your Luke's, grab a coffee and a fresh pastry before you keep walking.
2. The Gazebo & Town Square → Carnegie Park:
No trip to Stars Hollow is complete without a stop at the town square — in Livermore, that's Carnegie Square, downtown and the natural gathering spot for festivals and markets. Whether it's Thursday Night Farmer's Market or the annual Holiday Village, you can always catch me people watching here! I'm offering a special Gilmore Girls Autumn Mini Sessions where I recreate the Gazebo for Autumn Festival. Book a session with me a stop by during your day in Livermore! If you can't make it to a mini session date, schedule a private session with me.
NOTE AS OF SEPTEMBER 2026: THIS EVENT HAS PASSED, ANY SEASONAL POP-UPS CAN BE FOUND VIA MY MAIN BOOKING PAGE.
3. Stars Hollow Books → Word on the Street:
Every Stars Hollow day starts with a good book, and Livermore's own independent bookstore is the perfect stand-in. Browse the shelves and pick up something to read on a bench later.
4. The Dragonfly Inn → The Purple Orchid:
For the full Dragonfly Inn experience, head to The Purple Orchid — a charming, inn-like retreat that captures that same warm, small-town hospitality.
5. Weston's Bakery → Primrose Bakery:
Stars Hollow technically has two bakeries, so we do too. Stop into Primrose Bakery for something sweet before lunch.
6. Antonio's Pizzeria → Tony's Slice House:
Grab a slice at Tony's Slice House — the obvious Livermore answer to Stars Hollow's go-to pizza spot.
7. Miss Patty's School of Ballet → Livermore School of Dance:
Miss Patty's was the beating heart of Stars Hollow's town gossip and events. Livermore School of Dance channels the same spirit as a beloved local fixture.
8. Doose's Market → Meadowlark Dairy:
Meadowlark Dairy is both in Pleasanton and Livermore. They're both charming, old-fashioned stand-in — perfect for a treat while you continue your stroll.
9. Kim's Antiques → Blue Door Antiques:
Wander through Blue Door Antiques the way Rory and Lorelai would poke around Kim's — you never know what you'll find (maybe Luke's truck parked outside?!)
10. Taylor's Old Fashioned Soda Shoppe → Handel's:
No Stars Hollow day is complete without ice cream, and Handel's is exactly the kind of old-fashioned soda-shop energy Taylor Doose would approve of (even if he'd have opinions about the flavors).
11. Stars Hollow High School → Livermore High School:
A quick nostalgic pass by Livermore High School rounds out the "small town institutions" leg of the tour.
12. Stars Hollow Post Office → Livermore Post Office (USPS):
Because even Stars Hollow needed stamps sometimes.
13. The Gazette → The Independent:
Wrap up your tour with a stop at a local art gallery downtown — a nod to the Stars Hollow Gazette's role as the town's little cultural hub.
Bonus: If you have extra time:
- Head over to G&M Farms for their six-acre corn maze (featured on David Letterman's show twice) and experience Taylor's Hay Bale Maze in Season 7, Episode 18!
- Blacksmith Square resembles to secret bar!
- Ravenswood Historic Site resembles Emily and Richard's Estate!
Capture Your Stars Hollow Day with me if you want real, candid shots of your own Stars Hollow day (solo, with your best friend, your daughter, or your favorite Gilmore girl), I'd love to help. Reach out and let's plan a private Livermore session.
